International Symposium on Cocoa Research

2ND INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON COCOA RESEARCH 2021

The International Cocoa Organization (ICCO) in partnership with the French institution, Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD), announces the dates of the second edition of the International Symposium on Cocoa Research. The annual event will take place during 27-29 September of this year in Montpellier, France.

The International Cocoa Research Symposium attracted over 500 participants last year, not only from the scientific community, but also from the entire cocoa value chain, making it an attractive event for anyone concerned about the future of cocoa.

The Symposium offers an opportunity for participants to interact with cocoa industry leaders and high-level speakers, who will present their latest studies suggesting the way forward for the cocoa sector.

The main theme of this edition of the symposium is “Innovations to Support Market Development and Promote Sustainability in Cocoa Farming to Improve Farmers’ Incomes“.

The theme will be articulated around the 3 distinct sessions and topics below:

  • Cocoa Cultivation: Innovative Approaches and Practices for Sustainable Production
  • Sustainable Cocoa and Climate Change: The way forward through Mitigation and Adaptation
  • Innovations to support the Cocoa Processing & Market Development

Researchers will have to present the results of their work based on the topics proposed.
