WORLD COCOA FOUNDATION ANNOUNCED AN ONLINE EVENT

The World Cocoa Foundation has announced that its annual partnership meeting will be held online rather than the physical event planned in Colombia that was supposed to happen this November.

The organisation was formed in 2000, including members of cocoa and chocolate manufacturers, processors, supply chain managers, and other companies worldwide, representing more than 80 percent of the global sector.

Last year’s event took place in Berlin under the theme Drivers Of Change. It attracted more than 300 participants from the industry to promote sustainability.

In a statement, the World Cocoa Foundation stated that because of the current world situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisation has decided to cancel the in-person meeting scheduled on November 18-19 in Bogotá, Columbia. But, the organisation is excited to host its first-ever online event. The World Cocoa Foundation has an essential role in the international Cocoa and Forests Initiative (CFI), a joint partnership between Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, and 36 cocoa and chocolate companies.

World Cocoa Foundation has been supported by many organisations to make some changes to important industry issues.
