UGANDA RESULTS ON RESILIENT COFFEE PROGRAMME

The Alliance for Resilient Coffee (ARC) project in Uganda hosted a webinar where they shared their results. The ARC Project was phased out in September 2020 and listed the results on their website. The press release can be downloaded there, or download it below.

We had some criticisms of the report which claimed findings different from the numbers on their own website. The site also uses an abundance of overly-clever management consultant buzzwords that subtract from any attempt at clear communication.

It was with relatively low expectations, therefore, that we logged on to the webinar that the Uganda team put on.

In fact, we should have not worried. The webinar hosts did an excellent job of explaining:

  • Who was involved
  • What were their objectives, and;
  • Listing the outcomes using empirical statements

What I particularly liked about the presentation was that the hosts spoke slowly and clearly. I have a hard time with accents, and this can be amplified over webinars. The hosts were organised, knowledgeable and to-the-point.

  • Reached over 1,500 smallholder farming households
  • Over 900 training sessions
  • Over 700 hectares of land has been adapted now to the smart-climate approach

We hope to see more presentations like this one, and less of the buzzword bingo in the future.
