Keurig Dr Pepper x Intelligentsia

KEURIG ADDS INTELLIGENTSIA K-CUP PODS TO BREWING SYSTEM

Keurig Dr Pepper Inc., together with Intelligentsia Coffee, have recently launched Intelligentsia K-Cup pods for the Keurig brewing system. This is the first time that consumers will be able to purchase the super-premium coffee brand in this format.

MultiStream technology, one of the new features of the Keurig brewing system, employs five streams instead of one to thoroughly saturate the grounds and extract full flavour and aroma. With this, artisanal brands like Intelligentsia will manage to produce the taste that consumers have come to expect from every Keurig brew.

The addition of a super-premium brand like Intelligentsia into the Keurig partner ecosystem is a testament to the quality of coffee Keurig brewers can deliver and our ability to offer premium coffee experiences. As consumers increasingly look for sophisticated convenience, partnering with Intelligentsia will allow us to continue offering vast variety and choice across all categories of coffee brands, at the touch of a button.

Additionally, the K-Supreme Plus® SMART, Keurig’s first connected brewer launched in 2021, features hallmark BrewID™. A technology platform that unlocks customized settings for 900+ K-Cup® pod varieties, BrewID™ recognizes the brew parameters to each cup’s unique flavor by identifying the brand, variety and roast of the K-Cup pod.

Over the past two years we’ve had several customers tell us that they want extraordinary coffee in convenient formats. We recently began working with the Keurig team and are impressed with their technological advancements in the brewers. Our Innovation team invested countless hours optimizing our coffee for the K-Cup pod format. We carefully selected the green coffee, went through dozens of roast profiles, and collaborated with Keurig to achieve the finest grind and best taste available for Intelligentsia in a K-Cup pod.

James McLaughlin, President & CEO, Intelligentsia Coffee

The Intelligentsia K-Cup pods will be available in two different varieties when they go on sale this month at retailers all over the United States, as well as on e-commerce sites: Intelligentsia House, which has milk chocolate, apple and fruit flavors, and Intelligentsia El Gallo, which has citrus and stone fruit flavors with a tinge of creamy nougat and caramel.

Founded in 1995 by Doug Zell and Emily Mange, Chicago-based Intelligentsia is a coffee roasting company and retailer. The company is regarded as a major representative of third-wave coffee, a market trend in the industry that refers to speciality coffee.

With its headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts, Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. is a publicly-traded American beverage and coffeemaker corporation.  Formed in July 2018 with the merger of Keurig Green Mountain and Dr Pepper Snapple Group, the company has a wide distribution network and offers over 125 hot and cold beverages.
