The organisers of Chocoa announced they had decided to postpone the event, which was going to be virtual. Instead, the message came through that people and exhibitors wanted it to be an in-person event.
Running a virtual show may be more cost-effective, and personally I thoroughly enjoyed the virtual event. But it has to be said, when it was held in Amsterdam, there was excitement and an atmosphere that wasn’t present online. I remember tasting a lot of chocolate and exploring the wonderful stands and designs from around the world at the live event, and it’s fair to say, that charm is missing when you’re not physically there.
The message from the organisers follows
Despite of the very positive feedback on the digital platform we have used for Chocoa 2021, we have received many requests to have an in-person event this year. People are understandably eager to meet live again. Many of you have send us requests for booths and hearth warming support for a live event. As Chocoa 2022 will be the 10th edition of our event, we have concluded we should celebrate it with a live audience, next to the online community that we will continue to serve. Therefore we have decided to postpone the event to a later date in 2022.
However regretful to cancel the upcoming virtual Chocoa, that was planned to start 22 of February, we trust you understand this decision in the current global circumstances.
We are optimistic that the conditions will improve and that we can have a hybrid event in 2022. We are now looking for new dates. We will keep you informed on the developments and are looking forward to meeting you again live as soon as possible.”
