Coffee brand Café Bustelo launches its project called Café Bustelo El Café del Futuro Scholarship, in partnership with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU).
In 2014, $330,000 in college funds have been awarded to 66 Latino students nationwide through the collaboration. The project generated more than 1,900 applications in 2019. In 2020, Café Bustelo is again awarding a total of $100,000 to twenty students.
Café Bustelo is motivating Hispanic students to write and submit an essay in English or Spanish to describe how their heritage, family, and community have impacted their desire and motivation to obtain a college degree, how they intend to give back to their community, and what they intend to accomplish with their degree. Qualified U.S. students can apply for the opportunity to receive one of twenty $5,000 scholarships by submitting their essays.
“At Café Bustelo, our company believes whole-heartedly in supporting and reinvesting in the Latino community,” stated Eduardo Merino, Senior Brand Manager at COFFEE SHOP Bustelo. “Whether our community is living in the moment and awakening their senses through coffee or planning the future with a college education, we intend to have a hand in helping them make the most of it, he also added.”
