Temperature monitoring in the Osun state of Nigeria

The temperature in the state of Osun, Nigeria, recently returned in line with the long-term average for this season, after a warm anomaly that began in late April and culminated in July.

The positive anomaly during the seasonal low in temperatures favoured the development of the crop and accelerated the refurbishment of the canopy by increasing both the shedding of old leaves and the flushing of new ones.

In light of the good rainfall recorded in Osun State, the beneficial effect of the slightly higher temperatures was maximized.

All in all, the current season is extremely positive for cocoa production at this Nigerian region.
