The European Cocoa Association (ECA) has announced the programme for their upcoming European Cocoa Forum, due to take place in Rome between 13 and 15 September 2022.
Barry Callebaut’s bi-annual event, Chocovision, will be joining the European Cocoa Forum for the first time this year, and is set to host a discussion on traceability on 15 September, the last day of the forum.
Moderating the discussion will be David Rose, Director at LACS Training, with the conversation centering on implementing traceability from farmers to producers, with specific emphasis on traceability at the farmer level. This is a key area of focus at the moment, with the Cocoa and Forest Initiative (CFI) and the EU Deforestation Regulation both requiring this information from Cocoa buyers.
Speakers at the event include: Selassie Atadika, Chef, MIDUNU; Patrick Stoop, General Managing Partner, C-lever; Euphrasie Aka, Country Director & Regional Representative for West and Central Africa, International Cocoa Initiative, Ghana; Mary Arthur, Farmer & Purchasing Clerk, Bobi community, Ghana; Martin Short, President, World Cocoa Foundation; Alex Assanvo, Executive Secretary, Initiative Cacao Côte d’Ivoire -Ghana (ICCIG).
Barry Callebaut’s CEO, Peter Boone, will close the discussion with a few words of his own.
The Rome event will also discuss the following topics:

- Supply & Demand Functionality – Long-term policy options
