Study suggests drinking from disposable cups could lead to an increased risk of cancer.
UK coffee chain, Costa Coffee, has launched an anti-bacterial reusable cup lid for £1 as part of a trial across 500 participating stores.
The compostable cup is made from biodegradable materials instead of a plastic liner used to prevent leakage. The new cups will also be easier to recycle. Packaging consists of more than half of the Seattle-based chain’s waste output every year. Starbucks claimed it aims to reduce that amount by half in the next years.
