Brazilian coffee exports summary

Brazilian coffee export revenues reached a high and fetched good prices in domestic and foreign markets, according to the monthly Cecafe August report available in full here.

Revenues from Brazilian shipments reached an all-time high of US$5.904 billion (YTD) in August, up 61.4% from US$3.659 billion in the first eight months of 2021.

However, volumes have fallen by 5.3% over the same period, from 26.7 million coffee bags to the current 25.3 million coffee bags at the end of last month. Brazil exported significantly fewer coffee bags in August than in the same month in 2021, down 2.5%, but foreign exchange earnings were 49.5% higher than in 2021.

In the first two months of the crop year, Brazil shipped 5.278 million bags of coffee, down 8.1% in volume but up 46.3% in revenue.
