TANZANIAN SPECIALTY COFFEE AUCTION

The Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE), in partnership with Portland Global Initiatives and the Ngorongoro Coffee Group announced the 2021 Tanzania Ngorongoro Private Collection Auction to be held online on February 2, 2021.

The 5 producers:

A total of 27 winning green coffees scoring between 85.31 and 90.31 points cupped by the Alliance of Coffee Excellence will be featured at the online auction.

Acacia Hills Farm

Coffee lots from Ngorongoro group member Acacia Hills Coffee Estate took six of the top 10 spots in the coffee quality competition, including the top two spots with two different washed-process Gesha coffees, scoring 90.31 and 89.92.

The third-place scoring 89.46 went a AA washed-process Kent variety from Ngila Estate located on the edge of a cloud forest next to the Ngorongoro Crater.

The 27 winning lots range from 20 to 600 kilos, and bidding will begin at $4.50 per pound, according to ACE.

Registration for the coffee auction costs $25, while a limited number of sample sets featuring the auction coffees are for sale at $350, including the registration fee.
