SUSTAINABLE HARVEST STARTED A PRODUCER RELIEF FUND

Sustainable Harvest started a Go Fund Me for developing countries for coffee producers during the Covid-19 crises.

Due to lockdown, curfews, travel restrictions, and road closures, farming communities are facing significant difficulties in securing their basic needs. Many of the communities already live in remote areas with limited access to safe, affordable food and medicines, and most don’t have the proper equipment to maintain World Health Organization guidelines. So, Sustainable Harvest started a relief kit.

All of the money will go to fund the production of farmer “relief kits.”

The kits will contain:

  • Staple foods such as pasta, tuna, rice, beans, tortillas, and grains.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) for producers and essential workers.
  • Cleaning supplies to sanitize households and workplaces.

Even though the whole world is being impacted by the health crisis, we can’t ignore the fact that out of everyone in the supply chain, producers are the most at risk. The entire industry depends on them. We must help them when they are most in need.
