Swiss leading sustainable farm to roaster coffee company, Sucafina announced an agreement to take a majority interest in British green and soluble coffee merchants, Complete Coffee Limited (CCL).

Sucafina has a family tradition in commodities that stretches back to 1905. With more than 1,031 employees in 29 countries, the Group is one of the leading coffee trading houses in the world, and one of the few focused entirely on coffee. Their extensive supply chains span from producer-facing export operations to destination sales offices around the globally.

Complete Coffee was founded in 1929 in London and are pioneers in sourcing ethical, certified and specialty coffees in UK and other markets. The company has operated for in trading for 90 years. Originally founded as Alan J. Ridge & Co. Ltd in 1929.

in 1943 Ernest Breminer acquired Alan J. Ridge & Co. Ltd. The two companies traded side by side until 1988. The Company has evolved in response to the changing needs of the International Coffee Market and has established a strong reputation in the global coffee industry.

Under the leadership of the Breminer family and its current chairman, Mr. Ian Breminer, CCL has a long and storied reputation in the global coffee industry, trading soluble and green coffees to a variety of domestic and international clients.

Mr. Ian Breminer who will continue to lead CCL as it enters this new phase alongside Sucafina said,

Although the company trades internationally, our biggest market is the United Kingdom. This partnership with Sucafina will enable us to bring economies of scale, many new origins, as well as risk management and finance strength to enhance our offers to our UK clientele.

The new partnership will provide added value for CCL’s customers, expanding coffee offerings in soluble, specialty and mainstream green coffees. CCL will have immediate access to Sucafina’s extensive global network of coffee supply chains and expertise. The Breminer family will retain participation in the company.

Cory Bush, Managing Director of CCL says,

We anticipate adding people and resources over the course of 2021 to help accommodate our plans for the United Kingdom. Sucafina is also looking at additional acquisitions in other geographies as part of our strategic growth plans.
