NEW WELLNESS COFFEE BY TAIKA

A new startup company Taika uses a patent-pending process to reduce the amount of caffeine in each coffee can to 130mg. A 12-ounce cup of regular coffee has 200mg. It also features adaptogens and mushrooms like ashwagandha (for calm) reishi (for immunity) and lions mane (supports clear thinking).

Taika is launching with three flavors: Black Coffee, Oat Milk Latte, and Macadamia Latte. The coffee is sourced from a roaster in Vancouver, BC, and the lattes are plant-based and don’t have added sugar.

Taika (magic in Finnish) is focusing on wellness and isn’t the first company to put adaptogens in coffee or the first to invent lower-caffeine coffee. However, the combination of benefits of coffee with these other well-known ingredients among health followers and biohackers can lead to something different, the company claims.

Taika prints a phone number on their packaging to collect customer feedback and modifies their formulations accordingly. It’s now on version 0.8 and has drinks which include a black coffee, an oat milk latte and a macadamia nut latte.

Taika decided to use allulose as a sweetener, which doesn’t have the same negative impact on blood sugar levels than regular sugar.

The drinks are currently only available in parts of the west coast in the USA, but the company has raised $2.7m USD in seed funding to expand operations.
