NESTLÉ AND STARBUCKS COLLABORATE ON NEW PRODUCT LINEUP

Nestlé and Starbucks Corporation announced earlier this week, a new collaboration to bring a new coffee beverage line, Starbucks Ready to Drink, known as RTD, to selected markets across Southeast Asia, Latin America and Oceania. The companies aim to have this line of products available to customers by 2022.

Since 2018, Nestlé and Starbucks have come together to market products to customers. The new products include whole bean and Starbucks capsules for Nespresso and Nescafé Dolce Gusto machines.

The signed agreement allows Nestlé, to market packaged Starbucks products globally but will exclude goods sold in Starbucks’ coffee shops and RTD products.

Both companies are confident in this extended partnership. Head of Nestlé Coffee Brands David Rennie, stated:

With our expansion plans into RTD coffee, Nestlé will continue to build on its global leadership in coffee and will benefit from new growth opportunities in a segment that is developing rapidly and attracting new and younger consumers.

The group president of International and Channel Development of Starbucks, Michael Conway, also said a few words about the two companies’ collaboration:

Our partnership has proven highly successful for both companies, and we are confident that this new collaboration will help us meet our customers’ evolving needs.

This new lineup will include popular RTD products such as Starbucks Frappuccinos and Starbucks Doubleshot. In addition, the two companies also briefly mentioned the development of new products for this extended partnership.
