La Colombe is testing a self-heating aluminum can of coffee.
La Colombe developed the new product in partnership with HeatGen. The product is available in Brazilian and Brazilian Milk + Sugar. The company’s proprietary heater creates a flame-free, chemical reaction that heats drinks without fumes, smoke, or liquid. In just 2 minutes, you can get 10.3 ounces of coffee delivered at about 130 degrees. Regular coffee brews at 185°F, so the difference is noticeable.
“We are always in search of what coffee can become, and that is something that continuously drives us,” stated Todd Carmichael La Colombe CEO and co-founder. “At La Colombe, we believe that nothing is ever finished-he also added.”
This limited beverage is part of La Colombe’s Fresh Ideas program. The product is in the testing period and could be sold more widely if the feedback is positive.
