Chocoa 2021

THE 9TH EDITION OF CHOCOA GOES VIRTUAL

The 9th edition of Chocoa goes virtual from the 24th till the 26th of February featuring the Amsterdam Sustainable Cocoa Conference (ASCC) and the Chocolate Makers’ Forum (CMF) – where Nick will be moderating the Chocolate Makers Forums.

Chocoa invites key industry stakeholders to network and discuss important sustainability issues, trends, and burning topics within the cocoa and craft chocolate industry. The conference will be held on a professional virtual platform providing participants with a real-life event experience despite the ongoing pandemic.

The 3-day program can be downloaded here.

Over the past year, all events in the cocoa sector have been canceled or postponed indefinitely. Webinars have been organised but some critics have said that they did not offer the same value as real-life events.

Understanding this issue, Chocoa feels responsible to organise this year’s event and ensures business meetings and networking opportunities stand at the forefront of their program and not a standard webinar.

Besides hosting presentations and engaging discussions on important sustainability issues, Chocoa is also offering unique virtual networking experiences.

Their ‘Network Plaza’ offers space to arrange formal and informal meetings throughout the event, where participants can schedule these meetings using an app.

The app allows participants to create profiles for the highlight of the event, the ‘Matchmaking Carousel’. This feature allows participants to randomly meet interesting people just as you would at a real-life event.

The ‘Matchmaking Carousel’ matches participants based on tags they have chosen, ensuring they will be matched with someone who meets their interests. For example, if they classify as a cocoa seller they will be matched with cocoa buyers.

Equipoise, the sustainability consultancy who organises Chocoa are busy day in and out to provide three days full of virtual networking, knowledge exchange, and business opportunities.

As participants can join Chocoa virtually from all over the world, they expect more participants, from more origins than ever, following from a successful event last year in Amsterdam, as we previously reported.

Tickets are available now.
