The Alliance for Coffee Excellence has partnered with Asociación de Cafés Especiales del Ecuador (ACEDE) to launch a 2020 Cup of Excellence (COE) pilot program with Ecuador.
ADECE has indicated that the inaugural Ecuadorian COE competition will be held in the city of Guayaquil.
“We are excited to bring the first ever COE to Ecuador. We are very happy that we’ve been able to finalise all the details of this project that we’ve been working on together for two years,” said Wilson Gonzalez Ramos, Executive Director of ACEDE.
ADECE is an Ecuadorian coffee association that looks to promote specialty coffee by generating policies, training, events, and incentives in the industry.
Plans are underway for COE to run its full program including its internet auction platform in 2021.
“We’re very excited and very keen to put Ecuador on the world map and bring our best coffees to the most demanding boutiques around the world. We are confident that we will ratify Ecuador as an origin of some of the finest coffees in the world,” said Ramos.
