The Côte d’Ivoire cocoa grinders ended the month of July having processed 452,000 tonnes of cocoa beans, down from 469,000 tonnes during the same period last year, according to the cocoa exporters’ association GEPEX
There are 712,000 tonnes of grinding capacity in Côte d’Ivoire. It is the world’s top producer of cocoa and the second-largest grinder after the Netherlands.
As a comparison to the previous month, cocoa grinds had an increase of 6.4% to 50,000 tonnes in July compared to the previous month.
There are six companies in its GEPEX database that are among the largest grinders in the world. Some of them include Barry Callebaut BARN.S, Olam International Ltd OLAM.SI, and Cargill Inc CARGIL.UL.
