BAZZARA HONOURS MASSIMO RENDA, MAURIZIO GIULI AT TRIESTE COFFEE EXPERTS EVENT

The event “Trieste Coffee Experts – The Preview” by the Trieste-based roasting company Bazzara, was a success on 28th October as part of the TriestEspresso Expo, which took place in the Trieste Convention Centre (TCC) in Porto Vecchio.

At this event, the most important representatives of the Italian coffee sector took turns throughout the afternoon to talk about sustainability and the future of coffee. A stage dedicated to big names who attended the event alongside Mauro Bazzara, the company’s CEO. One exclusive guest was Massimo Renda, CEO of Caffé Borbone. He played a central role in the various speeches at the event and also spoke as an ambassador of coffee to further support a collaboration between Trieste and Naples, which was strongly desired by Franco Bazzara, President of the Trieste-based company. Both cities are a symbol of coffee, a metaphor to put the spotlight on the different realities of this sector throughout Italy, to underline the importance of working together to achieve the goal of UNESCO and to promote the coffee ritual as an Italian symbol in the world.

In the perspective of sustainability, the key is to listen more to the customer, who is already very aware. Consumers who must be seen as an input for a virtuous race among the different production systems and that with their choices repays the companies that work more to make production systems more efficient, that use more the renewable energies and promote a continuous fight against waste.

Friday 28 October was, therefore, an intense day, attended by one of the most important personalities in the world of coffee – Renda, CEO of Caffé Borbone – to support the roastery in Trieste with which he has always shared the same idea, namely the importance of networking to promote a product that is a symbol of the excellence of Made in Italy.

For the historic roastery, it was also a pleasure to receive the recognition of the Mayor of Trieste, Roberto Dipiazza, who spoke at the Bazzara stand to support the initiative that the company has always championed and to award Massimo Renda with the Coat of Arms, a plaque of recognition from the city. The President of the Region, Massimiliano Fedriga, also brought his greetings at the opening of the event: “I hope that the institutions can work together as a team. I thank those who will participate,” he said, thanking the Bazzara family and the President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce Antonio Paoletti

The usual Bazzara Lounge was also a success, with the participation of many important personalities such as Luigi Morello of Cimbali and President of IEI; Carlo Ciamarra of Nuova Simonelli SpA; Gianfranco Carubelli, CEO of Pulycaff; Cosimo Libardo, Strategic Advisor of the World Specialty Coffee Organisation and newly elected Treasurer of the International Board of the Specialty Coffee Association; Giuseppe Biffi, Digital Enterprise of Siemens S.p.A.; Carlo Barbi of Club House and also Elektra, the Ima Petroncini Group, Cappellini, Alkaff, Ricambi Gardosi and many others. Together, they talk about the common future of coffee with a view to the 6th edition of Trieste Coffee Experts, planned for 2023.

Bazzara opened its doors and this event, which has already become a tradition, was attended by many stakeholders, guests and important names from the coffee industry

It was an informal event accompanied by good music and excellent Italian prosecco directly from Drusian, with the aim of creating a convivial atmosphere and socialising. An amusing moment culminated in the awarding of the Coffee Person of the Year prize to Maurizio Giuli.

Maurizio Giuli is the Executive for Corporate Strategy in the Simonelli Group, Vice President of UCIMAC – the association of Italian coffee machine manufacturers – President of the same association for four years and also Export Division Manager of the Simonelli Group.

The TCE Award was created to recognise the people who, with passion, determination and competence, meet the challenges of the market and put themselves at the forefront of the sector, always with the aim of providing excellent service and high-quality coffee, people who have probably never received the right value for their work and dedication.
